The Oliva Nub Maduro Cigars were released in 2009 by Oliva in response to the requests from nub smokers. The original nub line was released in Habano, Connecticut, and Cameroon wrappers. The basis for the "nub" was that the "sweet spot" of a cigar is in the last 1/3 of the cigar. Oliva decided that they would make a short, fat cigar that would smoke like the ending part of a cigar. They've done a great job in recreating this and several copy-cats have come along. However, like most things the original is always the best. The Oliva Nub Maduro is the latest progression in the Nub line and is by far the strongest and most anticipated nub to date. The Nub Maduro is going to be released in two different sizes - the Nub Maduro 460 and the Nub Maduro 464T. The 460 is going to be a 4 x 60 short toro and the 464T is is a 4 x 64 Short Torpedo.
The best way to describe a Nub Maduro Cigar is full-flavored and strong! These babies pack a serious punch. In fact, it's one of the strongest cigars we've ever smoked. Immediately after lighting this cigar you know that you're in for a powerful smoke. The flavors you might taste are coffee, bittersweet chocolate, and toffee notes. The cigar is small, but it does last a good 45 minutes because the ring guages on the cigar are so big. When you have a cigar that is a 60 or 64 ring guage you can expect that the flavors will be overwhelming! Be prepared for a strong smoke!
We're not sure there's a lot of cigars like this one. There's obviously the other Nubs in the Oliva line, but there aren't a ton of cigars out there with such a short length and big ring guage. We do know that the best prices online for Nub Maduro Cigars is by looking through our sponsors! Also look out for the Nub Miami. We have our suspicions that the next line of Nub Cigars is going to be made in Miami. This should make for an interesting smoke and possibly a more expensive smoke as well.
