AVO Companero (Limited Edition 2009)

The AVO Companero, as stated, is a limited edition release by AVO and is going to a Toro shaped cigar that is 6 inches long by 50 ring guage. For the past eight years AVO has released a cigar in celebration of the birthday of Avo Uvezian. AVO will be releasing these cigars nation-wide and they are going to have a big celebration with regards to having a ninth release of an anniversary cigar. These cigars are very limited and only certain shops will be able to get their hands on them. The first AVO limited edition was released in 2001 and people absolutely freaked out about it! These cigars used to only come in boxes of 10 cigars, but now they're available in boxes of 20 because this is more standard.

The Key Notes to the Cigar:

There isn't a lot of information about the AVO Companero out right now. However, we do know a little about the blend and the size. As stated, the AVO Companero is a Toro (6 x 50) cigar and will have a special blend of 5 different tobaccos for the filler tobacco. It's rumored that it will be a very complex and full-bodied cigar, which is going to be a great cigar by AVO. The jury is still out on these since it hasn't been released yet (As of March 13th, 2009), but we'll do our best to udpate the site when the big AVO Tour kicks off.

Where to Buy AVO Companero:

AVOs are made by Davidoff and Davidoff is extremely picky about who carries their products. I'd definitely check out the usual suspects on where to buy these. Our sponsors here often have some of the best prices and biggest selections on the internet. I'd say if you're looking at the AVO Companero you should also check out the AVO Tesoro (Last year's anniversary release). These will have some age on them if you can find them and most likely will be a fantastic smoke. There are a ton of reviews on the AVO Tesoro and they are readily available online for informational purposes.
